House Rules and FAQ for Weddings at Swift Coles Home
The fee to use the Swift Coles Historic Home for weddings is $1800. We require a non-refundable $250 deposit upon booking, and a $200 refundable damage deposit, this $200 deposit may be refunded provided the house rules are followed and will be refunded by separate check. Your deposit of $250 will apply to the balance of the event, due thirty days in advance along with event insurance.
The house will provide table and chair set up along with a bar if needed the Friday before the wedding. (Rehearsal may be held on the grounds but rehearsal dinner charge will be an additional $500.) These will be set up in 2 places on the grounds and in a third if party has paid for rehearsal dinner. Set up will be in accordance with visual layout provided by the wedding party and must be returned two weeks before the event. Once they are set up according to this layout, any change will be the responsibility of the wedding party.
Bridal party will have access to the grounds only on the Friday before the event, understanding that we are open to the public on Fridays and they have the highest priority. This is time when you may decorate. You may have rehearsal in the PM, however, no rehearsal dinner unless extra fee has been paid. Access to the property on Friday is until 8PM. Access is permitted all day on the day of the wedding. Access to designated areas of the house is allowed at the approved 5 hour time slot. At the end of the chosen time, the house will be closed and any personal items left will be placed on the porch. Access to the grounds will be available for clean up the Sunday after the event until noon. At this time, the gate will be locked unless other arrangements have been made with management.
Bridal party will provide all table linens and decorations, bartender, music, dance floor, etc. Swift Coles will not be responsible for anything other than the tables and chairs.
If using pavilion, it may be decorated, but not using nails. If you are not using, otherwise, please do not decorate this area.
Lights may be draped in trees without damage to branches but wrapping lights around branches is prohibited.
Party will need to provide their own extension cords.
While using the assigned interior of the home, please respect our home and our artifacts/antique furniture. Please do not place drinks or food on them. Please do not remove any artifacts from the house or rearrange the furniture. Allow yourself enough time to have everything removed from that area by end of the designated 5 hour time slot. At that time the house will be locked and there will be no further access. Access to this area and restroom is limited to the bridal party in the designated time slot. Guest restrooms are available in the back of the property with the “Restroom” sign. We provide paper products for this restroom. If the wedding party should desire additional restrooms, these will be the sole responsibility of the renter.
Per our contract, you will have up to 20 round tables, these are 5ft in diameter and comfortably seat 6. You will have 4 rectangular tables that are 8 ft long. These comfortably seat 8. We can provide up to 180 chairs. We have two 44 gallon Brute Trash cans for your use, but we do not provide the bags.
You may obtain the required event insurance from your agent or online. This is due to Swift Coles upon balance of rental, 30 days before event.
Kitchen area is allowed during the 5 hour inside time period. We prefer that this be used only by licensed caterers or only to serve pre cooked food. No food preparation by the wedding party will be allowed.
